A Wild Food Walk Through the grounds of Clonalis House
with foraging expert Margaret Leahy of Fable Tours, Connemara.
Thursday 30th of July
2PM - 4.30PM
This interactive walk introduces participants to the diversity of edible wild plants growing within the grounds of Clonalis House. Drawing on many years of experience as a forager, food tour guide and educator, Margaret will guide participants in identifying a range of common and seasonal wild foods, discussing their traditional uses, culinary potential and sustainable harvesting practices.
We will start with a tasting of homemade wild food crackers, seasonal dip and a wild-inspired drink, providing an opportunity to chat about how wild plants can be used in our cooking.
The walk focuses on wild plants and their role in biodiversity, heritage and Irish food culture. Participants will learn how I incorporate wild ingredients into my own cooking and food experiences.
THIS EVENT IS KINDLY SPONSORED BY ROSCOMMON COUNTY COUNCIL AND CLONALIS HOUSE.
